This factory, Slate Grey/ Red 1962 356 Super cabriolet, was initially purchased by Charles K. Bittner, a major in the Air Force stationed in Germany. He purchased this US-spec 356 through the factory but took delivery at SonAuto, Paris. Charles specifically ordered this car as a 356 Super cabriolet, but without a soft top, he only wanted a hard top with the car and drove it like that until 2006. The second owner purchased and installed the soft top ( both tops are included in the final sale). After Charles’s passing, the second owner purchased from the Bittner’s and restored it a few years later in Dec 2012. The car was taken down to bare metal and restored by a few notable 356 restorers in New England.
